Why we like it:

This delightful Italian restaurant offers perfectly prepared pasta dishes, wood fired pizzas and delicious antipasti.  The family style environment suits large groups of family and friends with food made to share.  Finish the meal with classic Italian desserts such as tiramisu, panna cotta and tora della nonna.

Why we like it:

This beautiful restaurant is located in an old teak house surrounded by lovely gardens. Well known to locals but lesser known to tourists, Huen Jai Yong is well known for its pork stew curry, northern vegetables and deep fried pork among other classic northern dishes.  It is well worth the journey out of the city center to enjoy lunch at Huen Jai Yong.

Why we like it:

Located in the trendy Niman area, Blackitch is a 16 seater restaurant offering a 9 course menu which constantly changes, dictated by what is in season at the time. Chef Phanuphol Bulsuwan honed his cooking and fermenting skills under his restaurateur grandmother. He’s known locally as a fermentation master, turning kitchen scraps into fermented seasoning ingredients, at least one of which always makes its way into each dish.

Another restaurant conveniently located in Nimman, Accha is arguably the best Indian restaurant in Chiang Mai with great atmosphere, décor and a wide range of delicious curries, rice dishes and classic Indian dishes.  Furthermore, the prices are affordable prices and excellent service are the cherry on the cake. dish.

Why we like it:

A French and Thai restaurant located east of the river, Jacky Show is a modern restaurant serving up some classic as well as modern takes on French and Thai food. Chef Jacky travelled the world to learn from the best and after 40 years experience now has one of the best restaurants in Chiang Mai.

Dukes is something of an institution for residents of Chiang Mai with several branches located throughout the city.  Serving a wide selection of burgers, pizzas, pastas, steaks and salads, customers always leave full and satisfied thanks to huge servings of well prepared dishes served by attentive staff.

Why we like it:

This small local eatery serves up Chiang Mai’s most famous dish – Khao Soi to crowds of hungry customers. Founded 70 years ago, the restaurant is run by the daughter of the founder, Auntie Lumduan. Spicy, salty wholesome and delicious – Khao Soi Lam Duan Fah Ham is a must visit to anyone who comes to Chiang Mai.

Our favourite Japanese restaurant in Chiang Mai is inspired by authentic Japanese cuisine, diversified into a modern, contemporary dining experience. Another Chiang Mai institution, David’s Kitchen is the #1 rated best restaurant in Chiang Mai according to Trip Advisor, serving up a mix of French, European, Thai and fusion food. The attention to detail is superb, with amazing service and special touches such as David talking to each customer to ensure complete satisfaction. 

Prices are certainly reasonable given the level of detail in each dish, presentation and flavor. David’s Kitchen at 909 is great for special occasions such as birthdays and the staff will go the extra mile for a memorable experience.
